Summary: Dexter Wrestling Club kicked off the season with a strong showing at this years Top Hat tournament in Saline. It was a day marked with encouraging success from many first time participants in this challenging tournament. The day offered some incredibly valuable experience that will be a catalyst for steady improvement and development this season. Congratulations to Joey Livingston and Will Feldkamp for a very strong showing this year each finishing with an impressive 2nd place finish. All of our kids represented Dexter, the DWC, and their families very well. It was a great start to the season and we are proud of each participant. Way to go Team Dread!

Summary: James Carty and Ben Manly represented Dexter Wrestling Club at the Jr. Marauder Black and Blue tournament this weekend. It was another tough tournament with a talented pool of competitors. James kicked off his season with an excellent showing going 4-1 on the day to earn a tie for first place in the round robin bracket. Ben wrestled in the Open brackets in the afternoon and took on a series of very evenly matched opponents. With one forfeit and two very hard-fought victories, Ben overcame a tough 2-0 loss in the opening bout to walk away with a fourth place finish. Great job boys! You represented Dexter very well and you can be proud of your accomplishments!

Summary: Ben took on the big "Super Bowl of Wrestling" challenge for the first time this year taking on some of the best wrestlers in the state. The competition was tough and Ben rose to the challenge. He just missed placing but walks away with the experience of three tough bouts. And he leaves with the confidence gained from his lone victory on the day...hands down his best match of the season to this point. Ben represented Dexter very well this weekend and he can be very proud of the strides he is making while taking on big competitive challenges.

Summary:

Dexter was again well represented in Dearborn Heights this weekend. Dexter finished the day with two first place finishers; James Carty and Aiden Chisolm.They dominated their brackets to bring home their well-earned hardware. And while Sabina didn't place, she took really important strides improving in her technical skills and her aggressiveness, explosiveness, and defense. Congratualtions to our wrestlers. You have represented Dexter well!

Summary:

Team Dread stormed the Westland Glenn gym yesterday and turned in an impressive showing in a very competitive tournament. Of the 17 wrestlers there to represent Dexter over half placed resulting in a very impressive fourth place team finish. It was a big day for Team Dread and our boys can be proud of how they wrestled and how they represented the club, Dexter, their families, and themselves. They have been working very hard and their dedication in the wrestling room is showing on the mats in competition. Keep working boys, you are developing into formiddable and worthy opponents!

Our Novice wrestlers had another big day with four wrestlers placing in the Throwdown at the Dog Pound. Their hard work in the wrestling room is showing in competition and each week we are seeing tremendous improvement. They are preparing for future Open compettions and each of our wrestlers can be proud of their effort and their progress. Way to go Team Dread! You brought a mighty loud bark to the Dog Pound!

Summary: Team Dread hit Tecumseh yesterday with another very impressive showing from both our Novice and Open wrestlers. The improvement from week to week is unmistakable and our wrestlers accomplishments show it. And while many of our wrestlers brought home hardware yesterday, it isn't just the medals that we point to in pride. Each wrestler who competed yesterday had much to celebrate. The hard work in the wrestling room is showing and each wrestler gained valuable experience yesterday that will only make them better. Way to go Team Dread. Summary: Team Dread had another incredible day. 33 wrestlers flooded the Saline gym and took to the mats with a purpose. This was a day that saw many of our wrestlers make their season debut and their preparation really showed on the mae mat. Of the 33 wrestlers who competed yesterday, 16 placed. Our wrestlers are working hard and representing the club, our community and, their families extremely well. We could not be more proud of our wrestlers. Keep up the hard work guys! You are improving daily and you continue to develop as very worthy competitors.

Summary: It was another good day for Team Dread. Our four wrestlers took to the mat today and continued the impressive run our wrestlers have had this year. The improvement from week to week is truly remarkable. Livingston took on a multiple time State champion and pushed him to the limit finishing with a tough 6-4 loss. Joey is cementing his status as one of the best wrestlers in the Southeast Region. Manly also continued his steady climb this season with a very strong 2nd place finish. On his way to the silver medal, Ben pinned two opponents and dispatched two wrestlers who had beaten him in previous meetings. Van Fossen made his debut in Open wrestling and notched his first win with a gutsy move to reverse and pin his opponent. It was good enough to earn a second place finish in his debut. And Tyler Hochrein worked his way through another tough bracket earning an impressive first round pin in his second match of the day. Way to go boys. It is an absolute thrill watching your steady improvement with each and every passing week. Keep up the hard work. It is most certainly paying off!
