COMMITTEES

The DWC needs and appreciates your talents.  Here's your chance to make our club better by helping on one of these committees.  Just contact the committee chair or one of the board members to see how you can make a difference!

Publicity –

Publicize the DWC, work on public relations and contact potential members. Submit articles to the Dexter Leader for print, including news, upcoming tournament information and club member’s names and places finished at tournaments.

Fund-raising –

Take charge of and plan all fund raising events. Keep Board and club members up to date on contribution results.

Club Clothing –

Committee Chair: Beth Chamberlain

To arrange for and purchase club apparel and report to the DWC Treasurer on the collection and distribution of monies. This clothing will be ordered on a prepaid basis. The club will not prepay any clothing orders unless approved by the Board up front.

Coaches –
Committee Chair:  Jim Feldkamp

Responsible for team practices and for attending and coaching at team tournaments. Coaches must present a professional image and be respectful of the way their actions have a direct effect on the DWC image.

Tournament Director –

Committee Chair: 

The single point of contact for other clubs with questions about our tournaments. Oversees all tournament activities, schedules volunteer help and is the person in charge at all DWC hosted tournaments. Oversees the Pairing leader.

Awards and Awards Banquet Coordinator –

Committee Chair:  Rob Doletzky doletzky@umich.edu

Organize the awards banquet at the end of the season. Consult with the Board on the number and type of awards to order for the banquet. Order and arrange for the purchase of the awards and insure on-time delivery and accuracy. Organizes the potluck buffet.

Nomination –

Solicit candidates for Board membership and inform the Board of potential candidates at the last scheduled Board meeting before the banquet.

Other –

Other committees may be assigned by the Board from time to time to carry out the operations of the DWC.
